Minister Clark Must Resign

OTTAWA, ON – John Fraser, MPP for Ottawa South and Interim Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, has released the following statement in response to the newly released report from the Integrity Commissioner of Ontario:

“Today’s report makes it abundantly clear that Steve Clark is unable to conduct his ministerial duties in good faith or in the interest of Ontario families. Under his watch, PC Party insiders and rich developers hand-picked which Greenbelt lands the Conservative government approved to pave over.

“This was nothing less than a gift from the government, to Premier Ford’s friends, in the amount of $8.3 billion.

“It was Minister Clark who brought this selection of lands to Cabinet and supported their development with full knowledge of what he was doing.

“Minister Clark has broken the Integrity Act and lost the trust of the public. He must resign.

“The report also tells us this is not over. We need to dig deeper, and Premier Ford must open the books on this scandal.”
