Interim Executive Director and Fundraising Lead of the Ontario Liberal Party

Fellow Ontario Liberals,

As many of you know our Executive Director, David Clarke, recently informed me of his decision to accept an offer of employment within the private sector.

David has been an incredible leader for OLP as we navigated the biggest transition our party has ever seen. I know for certain the last few months would have been drastically harder without David’s experience, knowledge, and hard work.

While David’s departure leaves big shoes to fill, we need to move swiftly to fill this key vacancy to ensure our rebuilding process is not stalled.

That’s why in consultation with our interim leader, we have taken the decision to appoint Deb Roberts to the role of Interim Executive Director and Fundraising Lead of the Ontario Liberal Party. Deb brings a wealth of experience that is invaluable at this point in time. She will remain in this position until a permanent leader is elected.

In addition to bringing Deb onboard, last week I moved to strike a search committee of the Executive Council that will work to hire an Interim Organization and Communications lead at OLP HQ.  In the coming days this job opening will be posted on our website, with interviews starting immediately. The goal will be to have this new role in place by the beginning of November.

At this critical time for our Party finances, I am pleased to say  we will be able to bring on Deb and this additional hire at no additional cost to OLP’s current staff budget.

Please join me in wishing David best of luck and in welcoming Deb to our team as we look forward to renewing, reimagining, and rebuilding our Party together.

Looking forward,

Brian
