Liberals in Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte Nominate Jeff Lehman as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

March 15, 2022 – Liberals in Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte have nominated Jeff Lehman, the Mayor of Barrie, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Jeff has done a phenomenal job as Mayor of Barrie, and has the skills and experience needed to be a fantastic MPP,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “By electing Jeff as their MPP, residents in Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte will continue to have a strong fighter in their corner at Queen’s Park.”

Jeff Lehman is one of Ontario’s most accomplished local politicians. The Mayor of Barrie since 2010, he was re-elected in 2014 and again in 2018 with more than 90% of the popular vote. He has twice served as the chairman of Ontario’s Big City Mayors Caucus, consisting of the Mayors of Ontario’s 29 largest cities. In 2019, the prestigious U.S. business magazine Fast Company named Lehman to its top 100 Most Creative People in Business for his innovative solutions in government – a rare recognition for a Canadian Mayor.

“Ontario faces a stark choice about its future,” said Lehman. “I believe we need a Provincial government focused on getting things done for everyone, a government who’s in it for all of us.”
