Today is Puthandu the beginning of the year for Tamil Ontarians and Tamils across the world.
Puthandu this year must be different as we are social distancing. We must do everything we can to protect the most vulnerable: our elders, the immune-compromised and all others who are at risk.
Today is a good day to reflect on the many contributions of Tamil Ontarians. Tamils have contributed in every way shape and form and I know many are on the frontlines today helping us to combat covid-19.
I hope that next year I can once again attend Puthandu celebrations with the Tamil community.
