Bill 124 Settlement a Long Overdue Victory for Ontario’s Teachers

TORONTO, ON – Bonnie Crombie, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, released the following statement in response to the mediated settlement that has awarded Ontario’s teachers long overdue compensation for the Ford Conservatives unconstitutional, wage-capping Bill 124:

“Instead of making the proper investments to build new schools and deliver the world-class education that our children deserve, the Ford Conservatives spent years attacking educators by unfairly capping their wages.

“Unlike the Ford Conservatives, Ontario Liberals will treat teachers as the professionals they are and commit to fair and open bargaining.

“Today is a massive, long overdue victory for those critical to our students’ success.”
