Liberals in Wellington—Halton Hills Nominate Tom Takacs as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

May 5, 2022 – Liberals in Wellington—Halton Hills have nominated Tom Takacs, Master Electrician and adult educator, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the June 2 provincial election.

“Tom loves the skilled trades and is passionate about helping people of all ages get the skills they need to succeed,” said Ontario Liberal leader Steven Del Duca. “Tom understands what it’s like to run a small business and knows how challenging the last two years have been for entrepreneurs and educators.”

Takacs is a first-generation Canadian, Master Electrician, and educator. He has taught college and continuing education courses and owns a small business that focuses on trades education. Takacs is an active volunteer who also served as a past executive at his local Royal Canadian Legion branch.

“I have seen four decades of political change, including the good, the bad and the ugly,” said Takacs. “I believe in the wellbeing of our children, future prosperity for young families, and respect and dignity for our elders. That’s why I’m excited to jump into the ring as part of the new Ontario Liberal team.”
