Liberals in Markham—Unionville Nominate Emily Li as their Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

April 14, 2022 – Liberals in Markham—Unionville have nominated Emily Li, a long-time resident of Markham and advocate for newcomers, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Emily Li’s work to advocate for her community is the example we need at Queen’s Park,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “Emily’s passion and hard work will make her an outstanding MPP for Markham—Unionville.”

Li has lived and worked in Markham for 15 years and has a strong passion for public service. In 2021, she established the Ontario Federation of Chinese Women and has helped many newcomers settle and adapt to life in Canada, focusing her efforts on Chinese women in need.

Li currently serves on the discipline and appeal committee board for the Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA). Li will fight for a better and more prosperous Markham—Unionville for current and future generations.

“Now more than ever, Markham—Unionville needs a strong community advocate to fight for our seniors, our youth, and our small business owners who are still feeling the lasting impacts of the pandemic,” said Li. “I look forward to representing the constituents of Markham—Unionville and fighting for the best tomorrow for all.”
