February 26, 2022 – Liberals in Hamilton West—Ancaster—Dundas have nominated Shubha Sandill, an instructor at York University and a community advocate, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Shubha has an impressive track record of fighting to improve her community and make Ontario a better place for everyone,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “Shubha will be a fantastic MPP and I am very happy to have her on our team.”

Shubha Sandill is a strong leader with a background in academia, business and grassroots activism with extensive board governance experience at the local, provincial and national levels. She has a Ph.D in Geography and a second Masters in Globalization from McMaster University, and teaches at the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies at York University.

Through various roles, most recently as National Board Director at Equal Voice Canada, Sandill continues to dedicate her efforts towards making civic landscapes more inclusive, diverse and equitable, while bridging the gap between academia, legislature and politics for constructive reforms.

“I want to bring a real transformation and a fresh vision to our riding’s multifaceted development,” said Sandill. “I will be a strong voice for Hamilton West—Ancaster—Dundas and represent the community’s interests at Queen’s Park.”
