Liberals in Willowdale Nominate Paul Saguil as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

January 27, 2022 – Liberals in Willowdale have nominated Paul Saguil, the Deputy Head of Sanctions Compliance and Anti-Corruption at TD Bank Group, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Paul is a strong leader for his community, and has spent his entire career fighting for people and ensuring their voices are heard,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “Paul will be a fantastic representative for his community, and I am very happy to have him on our team.”

Paul Saguil is an award-winning lawyer who has defended equality and human rights before the Supreme Court of Canada. He currently works for TD Bank Group where he is on the front lines of fighting financial crime and combating corruption worldwide.

Saguil is a dedicated community advocate and sits on a number of boards and advisory groups. He is a passionate champion for access to justice, financial inclusion, and education as a pathway to success for everyone.

“My career and community volunteerism has been dedicated to fighting for inclusion and advocating for those whose voices are not always present or heard in places of power,” said Saguil. “I believe we have an incredible opportunity to bring strong leadership and integrity back to public office and I’m looking forward to fighting with the Ontario Liberal Party for a safer, healthier, and brighter future for our province!”
