Liberals in Hastings—Lennox and Addington Nominate Ted Darby as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

December 20, 2021 – Liberals in Hastings—Lennox and Addington have nominated Ted Darby, a healthcare executive, municipal consultant, and healthcare administration professor, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Ted’s health policy expertise is what we need to strengthen our healthcare system, fix long-term care, and provide the essential supports Ontario families need,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “I know that with Ted at Queen’s Park, the residents of Hastings—Lennox and Addington will have a strong fighter on their side.”

Darby has a Master of Health Science degree from the University of Toronto and has held executive leadership positions at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, North York General, Mattawa General Hospital, and most recently, joint Vice-president for Providence Care and Kingston Health Sciences Centre. He has also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Township of King and Township of Stone Mills.

Darby currently teaches graduate courses in health care leadership, operations, and quality at St. Lawrence College. He is active as a municipal consultant completing Fire Master Plans for Leeds & Thousand Islands, Augusta Township, Mississippi Mills, Carleton Place, Russell Township and The Nation. He has completed service delivery review studies for the Town of Prescott and Township of Augusta and is currently completing a fire service delivery review for Wollaston, Limerick, and Tudor & Cashel Townships.
