Liberals in Scarborough—Agincourt Nominate Soo Wong as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

October 13, 2021 – Liberals in Scarborough—Agincourt have nominated Soo Wong, a front-line health care professional, Executive Director of a long-term care home, and former Member of Provincial Parliament, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

““I have witnessed firsthand how much of a tremendous representative Soo is for Scarborough—Agincourt,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “I’m very happy to have her on our team as we get ready to take on Doug Ford in the next provincial election.”

Wong has been a strong, dedicated, and active community advocate for Scarborough—Agincourt for over a decade, serving as a TDSB Trustee and Member of Provincial Parliament. She founded Scarborough—Agincourt’s Reading Circle, a recognized weekly children’s reading program that is free of charge to promote literacy in the community.

Wong is a strong community leader as demonstrated in her tireless work during the 2013 snowstorm, organizing annual job fairs, book drives for children, and mentoring local youth with an emphasis in women’s leadership. At present, Wong is an Executive Director in a long-term care home in the GTA. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toronto, and a Masters of Community Nursing at D’Youville College.

“As a front-line health care professional and executive director of a long-term care home in the GTA, I am prepared to fight for timely, effective, and transparent seniors care across Ontario,” said Wong. “I will work with and be the voice for Scarborough—Agincourt’s seniors, children and youth, families and businesses at Queen’s Park.”
