Liberals in Guelph Nominate Raechelle Devereaux as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

August 23, 2021 – Liberals in Guelph have nominated Raechelle Devereaux, the Chief Executive Officer of the Guelph Community Health Centre and a strong community leader, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Raechelle has always worked relentlessly to protect Ontarians and provide them with the healthcare services they need, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “With Raechelle Devereaux as their MPP, Guelph residents will have a strong leader at Queen’s Park, ready to fight for them and their families.”

Devereaux is a community leader with a professional career that has always put the health and wellness of the Guelph community front and centre. As the Chief Executive Officer of the Guelph Community Health Centre, she leads a highly respected organization with a staff of over 160 interprofessional healthcare providers as they deliver equitable access to health and well-being across the city.

Devereaux is passionate about working with the community to cocreate comprehensive, science-based solutions to address mental health and addictions, poverty, food security and adverse childhood experiences. She also led the design and implementation of the Guelph community’s Supported Isolation Centre and the initiation of mobile testing and immunization plans, ensuring equity-deserving populations had access to the health care services they need and deserve.

Devereaux is the proud mom of three energetic and compassionate children. When she’s not working to improve community wellness, she can be found volunteering as a soccer coach, running through Guelph neighbourhoods, or cheering on her sons at the hockey rink.

“As Guelph’s provincial Liberal candidate, I bring my on-the-ground health and social services expertise and 20-year community-based leadership track record to the table; which are needed now more than ever, as we face the giant feat of guiding our province’s post-pandemic recovery,” said Devereaux.
