Liberals in Ajax Nominate Amber Bowen as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

May 18, 2021 – Liberals in Ajax have nominated Amber Bowen, an elementary school teacher and trade unionist, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Ajax families deserve a representative who’s passionate about making their community a better place to live, work and learn,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “By electing Amber Bowen as their MPP, Ajax residents will have a strong fighter in their corner at Queen’s Park.”

Bowen is a proud career public school elementary teacher who connects with students and parents in her community every day. Bowen is also an elected representative within her Local of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) where she advocates on behalf of educators for better schools, and an improved public education system for all children in Ontario.

Bowen understands the resources and support that teachers and students need to help them be successful. As a parent and as a teacher, she has witnessed firsthand how harmful Doug Ford’s cuts to education have been for Ontario’s students. Addressing this need for change is a pressing issue for Bowen, and it is why she is running to be the next MPP for Ajax.

“As a public elementary school teacher, trade unionist, mom, and Ajax resident, I want to bring the energy and dreams of Ajacians to Queen’s Park,” said Bowen. “We need to re-invest in our public services, provide dignified affordable long-term care for our Seniors, properly fund our public schools, protect our environment and build a green economy that employs Ajacians in well-paying unionized jobs.”
