OTTAWA, ON. – Today, John Fraser, MPP for Ottawa South and Ontario Liberal Critic for Education, issued the following statement regarding the Minister of Education’s decision to withhold EQAO scores from parents and educators:
EQAO results are for educators and students so they know what help they may need to learn at the beginning of the school year.
The school year is close to being half over, and the Minister has been holding onto the results so he can study them.
That’s wrong.
So much effort is directed to these tests in our schools.
Families needed those results in September. The Minister should have shared them with the people who need them then.
Doug Ford and Paul Calandra believe they can run Ontario’s almost 5000 schools from an office in Queen’s Park.
This just shows why that won’t work.
