TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, released the following statement:
“Yesterday it was revealed that Doug Ford is going to great lengths to hide the advice he’s receiving from local public health units and top doctors.
Toronto Public Health has had to sign a nondisclosure agreement barring them from publicly releasing the advice they are providing on COVID-19. Only Doug Ford and his advisors know how many other local public health units have signed the NDA.
Doug Ford has lost control of COVID-19. With daily cases expected to hit 6,000 in December, he owes us answers. We can’t afford Doug Ford’s secrets and lies.
It’s absurd that Doug Ford chooses to ignore their dire calls for stricter restrictions.
The responsibility lies with Doug Ford to do the right thing. He must stop keeping the advice he is receiving a secret and release the plan backed by Ontario’s top doctors, using Public Health Ontario’s original recommendations.
Lives are on the line, what is Doug Ford hiding? Doug Ford can do the right thing. The buck stops with him.”
