OTTAWA, ON – John Fraser, MPP for Ottawa South and Interim Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, has released the following statement in response to recent reports that developers, who stand to gain from the carving of the People’s Greenbelt, attended a stag and doe party hosted at Doug Ford’s private residence:
“It’s clear, after recent revelations about the developers who attended the Ford family’s stag and doe party, and Doug Ford’s relationships with those individuals, that he has no respect for the office he holds. The Premier is thumbing his nose at the rest of us as he abuses his power to do what he wants, to benefit who he wants.
“The carving of the People’s Greenbelt has an increasing stench of insider trading. A sitting Premier inviting developers, lobbyists and people doing business with the government, to donate money to a private fundraiser to benefit a family member, is not what Ontarians expect from that office. And that is a reasonable expectation for them to have.”
