TORONTO – Ontario Liberal Party Leader Steven Del Duca has appointed two candidates for the next Ontario election. Marilyn Raphael (Brampton South) and Jill Promoli (Mississauga—Streetsville) are community leaders and strong advocates for social justice and public health care.
“Marilyn and Jill represent the best of Ontario,” said Steven Del Duca. “They are community champions and key members of our winning team in the next Ontario election. Both Jill and Marilyn add fresh perspectives to the Liberal family, expanding our efforts to recruit a diverse slate of candidates in touch with the issues that Ontario families are facing.”
Marilyn Raphael, an accomplished leader at an asset management firm, has a professional track record of promoting BIPOC talent and more diverse leadership teams at some of Canada’s largest companies, and she will support Ontario Liberals in recruiting the most diverse slate of candidates in our history.
Jill Promoli is a passionate advocate for public vaccination, and she will be a key voice in Ontario Liberal calls for widespread and fair access to the COVID-19 vaccine for Ontarians of all walks of life.
“I’m honoured to be joining the Ontario Liberal team as we take on and beat Doug Ford in the next election,” said Marilyn Raphael. “I look forward to serving the people of Brampton South, and giving them a new voice at Queen’s Park.”

Marilyn Raphael:
Marilyn Raphael has over 15 years of experience working in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in Ontario and is currently a Vice President in a leading North American asset management firm. Together with her husband, she is also the co-founder of ICON Talent Partners, a not-for-profit talent development organization for high potential BIPOC Talent.
For the last 10 years, Marilyn has called Brampton her home and has continued her commitment to advancing various public interest issues including, child and maternal health, youth development and employment, healthcare and police reform. In 2019, Marilyn was recognized by the Brampton Board of Trade as a recipient of Brampton’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.
Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from McMaster University, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Jill Promoli:
Jill Promoli is a small business owner and mother of three who became a flu prevention advocate after the sudden death of one of her twin boys in 2016. She founded For Jude, For Everyone, an organization to promote better awareness and understanding about the flu and other preventable illnesses to protect our communities, and has advocated for policy changes at every level to help improve public health. Her work has gained support from public figures and drawn attention in national and international media outlets.
She grew up in Port Elgin, Ontario, and holds a BA in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she met her husband while they volunteered on campus. After teaching in Korea and working in Toronto, they chose to make their home and raise their family in Mississauga, where their kids attend public school and Jill has spent years coaching t-ball and volunteering with the local women’s council.
