Statement by Steven Del Duca on the anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Sikhs across Ontario today will celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru and the founder of Sikhism.

This is an important day for Ontario’s Sikh Community as they celebrate the teachings of the Guru which includes selflessness and service.

During the pandemic we have seen Ontario’s Sikh community embrace those values as they have provided support in many communities. Their efforts have been noticed and appreciated.

I know that celebrations will be different this year as we have to socially distance – but we can be together virtually to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

On behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party and my family I wish all Sikh Ontarians celebrating today a wonderful and safe celebration!
