Three-Term Mayor of Lucan Biddulph and Warden of Middlesex County, Cathy Burghardt-Jesson, Nominated as Ontario Liberal Candidate for Lambton—Kent—Middlesex

LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON – Cathy Burghardt-Jesson, the third-term Mayor of Lucan Biddulph and three-term Warden of Middlesex County, is the next Ontario Liberal candidate for Lambton—Kent—Middlesex.

“Cathy has spent over a decade fighting to deliver more for families in Lambton—Kent—Middlesex, championing their issues and being their strong voice on municipal councils.

“I am thrilled to have Cathy on our team as we develop our plan to support rural Ontario and expand its agricultural industry!”

— Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals

“I’m honored to accept the nomination as the Liberal candidate for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. Under the current government, everyday Ontarians, especially in rural areas, are being ignored, and their issues are overlooked.

“I will be a strong voice for those unheard at Queen’s Park. I’ve built relationships across the province and proven my commitment to open dialogue and consensus.

“My priority will be representing the concerns and needs of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex residents, advocating for rural communities and supporting our vital agricultural sector, so we can build a province where everyone feels represented.”

— Cathy Burghardt-Jesson, Mayor of Lucan Biddulph and three-term Warden of Middlesex County

Raised in a family where service to your community was an expectation, Burghardt-Jesson has spent a lifetime living up to those values and giving back to the people around her.

First elected to municipal council in 2010 as the Deputy Mayor of Lucan Biddulph, Cathy Burghardt-Jesson has passionately served the residents of her community for well over a decade. Since 2014, Burghardt-Jesson has served as Mayor of Lucan Biddulph, and between the years of 2014 and 2023, she fought to further the well-being of families in rural Ontario as a Councillor and the Warden of Middlesex County. She now continues her service to Middlesex County as Deputy Warden.

A former small business owner, Burghardt-Jesson understands the importance of the rural economy and has seen first-hand how Doug Ford continues to fail rural communities.
