Ontario’s Liberals to Chart Bold Path Forward at Annual Meeting and Policy Conference in London

LONDON, ON – Under the threat of an early election, Ontario’s Liberals are gearing up to host a Policy Conference and Annual Meeting from September 20 to 22 in London, where a special focus will be placed on discussions that will shape the party’s next election platform.

“Ontario’s Liberals are coming together to chart a path forward for our party and present an ambitious vision to deliver more for you and your family from a government that works for you. After over six years of Doug Ford’s failed leadership and giveaways to his rich friends and insiders, Ontario families are struggling. We’re going to get Ontario back on track with a plan to fix and protect our healthcare system, cut class sizes, combat climate change, create jobs, and make housing and your life more affordable.”

— Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals

This year’s Policy Conference and Annual Meeting will convene a diverse range of voices to discuss how Ontario’s Liberals can deliver a real plan to Ontario voters to fix what Doug Ford has broken:

  • The Honourable Christy Clark, former Premier of British Columbia, will share her experience with building a winning platform focused on growing the economy in order to invest in health care and education, all while protecting the environment.
  • The Honourable Dr. Jane Philpott, former federal Minister of Health and Dean of Queen’s Health Sciences, will discuss how we can rebuild a publicly funded healthcare system that works for everyone.
  • Jennifer Keesmaat, former Chief Planner for the City of Toronto and a sought-after voice in innovative housing development, will speak about how we can work to ensure everyone in Ontario can afford a safe place to call home.
  • Dr. Samir Sinha, Director of Geriatrics at Mount Sinai and the University Health Network Hospitals in Toronto, will offer insights into how we can revolutionize health and seniors care.

The conference will be co-chaired by Ontario Liberal MPPs Andrea Hazell (Scarborough—Guildwood) and Lucille Collard (Ottawa—Vanier).
