TORONTO, ON – Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals, released the following statement:
“After six years in office, Doug Ford is trying to blame everyone but himself for his failure to crack down on crime.
“Doug Ford’s actions are alarming. His desire to bring American-style politics to our judicial system is wrong. We do not want a Conservative Premier appointing ‘like-minded’ judges or appointing gun lobbyists to choose our judges.
“We need to be smart on crime, and that means running our legal system effectively, clearing the backlog of appointments and cases, properly investing in our police services, and putting Ontario families and their safety first — something Doug Ford has failed to do.”
