Liberals in York Centre Nominate Shelley Brown as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

December 16, 2021 – Liberals in York Centre have nominated Shelley Brown, a retired human rights lawyer and a community advocate, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“As a human rights lawyer, Shelley has spent his career advocating on behalf of Ontarians and their families,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “Shelley will be a fantastic representative for his community at Queen’s Park, and I am very happy to have him on our team.”

Shelley Brown practiced in Toronto exclusively in employment and related human rights law, with a focus on the legalization of cannabis. Until his retirement in 2020, he was Counsel with Steinbergs LLP.

Brown attained his Civil and Common Law degrees from McGill University. He later returned to Osgoode Hall at York University to attain a Master’s Degree in Employment and Labour Law.

“Thank you to the people of York Centre for giving me the privilege of being their candidate,” said Brown. “The Ontario Liberal Party, led by Steven Del Duca, brings the experience, expertise, and, most of all, the good character to keep Ontario the best place in the world to live.”
