Statement from Steven Del Duca on Indigenous History Month

“This June, during Indigenous History Month, one thing is weighing heaviest on us all. The 215 Indigenous children stolen from their families who were among many to die in Canada’s residential schools.

“There needs to be a thorough investigation of every other residential school to determine if additional unmarked graves exist, and Doug Ford needs to urgently reinstate the Indigenous history curriculum he removed. At the very least, we owe it to the Indigenous children and families lost during those terrible years to expose the undocumented deaths, teach their stories, and never forget the pain inflicted upon them.”
