Steven Del Duca Makes Statement Celebrating Peruvian Independence Day

Today marks the beginning of Fiestas Patrias, a two-day celebration of Peruvian Independence.

On this day, 199 years ago, General Jose de San Martin proclaimed Peru’s Independence from Spain.

Today, Peruvians celebrate their independence and the establishment of the Republic of Peru on July 28th and 29th with parades, Criolla music and dancing, and small parties across the country and all around the world.

While this year’s celebrations will certainly be different from the norm, many Peruvian Ontarians will enjoy delicious Peruvian foods like ceviche and celebrate with passion and spirit.

On behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party I wish all of those celebrating Felices Fiestas Patrias!

Viva Peru!
