Statement from Steven Del Duca celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival

Today, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Japanese families all around the world, and right here in Ontario, celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Moon Festival is an ancient celebration giving thanks for the autumn harvest and to reunite with family and loved ones over a festive meal, the lighting of colourful lanterns, and the sharing of moon cakes

With over a million people, Ontario’s Southeast and East Asian communities are strong, vibrant and resilient, and diverse. They have been a part of this province and this country and are a part of what makes it a wonderful place to live.

While this festival will feel very different from previous years, we look forward to a wonderful socially distant festival, and a return to our festivities as soon as possible.

On behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party, myself and my family, I want to wish all those celebrating a very happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
