OTTAWA, ON — John Fraser, MPP for Ottawa South and Interim Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, has released the following statement:
“It’s good news for Ontarians that the RCMP will be launching a criminal investigation into Doug Ford’s $8.3 billion backroom deal.
“Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and we need to get to the bottom of why a handful of the Premier’s friends and fundraisers were given the inside track for an $8.3 billion windfall.
“All roads lead to the Premier’s office. There is no way that in a scandal of this size, one rookie chief of staff was the mastermind behind it.
“Not one dime of taxpayer dollars should be spent on lawyers for anyone implicated in this scandal — staff or elected officials.”
