About the OLRNC
Established in 2023, the Ontario Liberal Rural and Northern Commission (OLRNC) was created with a simple yet powerful idea: that rural and northern voices deserved to be heard, valued, and represented in political decision-making.
As a formal commission within the Ontario Liberal Party, the OLRNC brings together Liberals from across Ontario’s rural towns, farming communities, remote regions, and northern cities. Together, they work to ensure the priorities of our regions are reflected in the Party’s direction, values, and policy agenda.
To that end, the OLRNC is committed to:
- Promoting the active involvement of rural and northern Ontarians in the democratic process;
- Identifying, recruiting, and supporting individuals from these regions to join the Party and pursue leadership roles within its structures;
- Encouraging and facilitating the nomination and election of candidates from rural and northern ridings;
- And influencing policy development to ensure the unique challenges and perspectives of rural and northern communities are reflected in a deliberate and localized policy lens.
We believe that a stronger future for Ontario begins with inclusive representation. The OLRNC is committed to building a more connected, responsive, and regionally grounded Ontario Liberal Party.
