Ontario Liberal Health Care Candidates

QUEEN’S PARK – With an election taking place in just under two months, the Ontario Liberal Team is closing in on its 100th nomination, including a full slate of health care experts from across Ontario.

“We are extremely fortunate to have such a talented team of health care leaders running for us, including Doctors, Nurses, and Hospital Administrators. Imagine for a moment how differently COVID-19 could have gone with strong health care leaders like our team of health care experts in government addressing issues like hospital staffing capacity,” said Ontario Liberal Party Leader Steven Del Duca.

  • Lee Fairclough, Hospital President (Etobicoke-Lakeshore)

  • Ashley Fox, Registered Practical Nurse (Perth-Wellington)

  • John Fraser, Ontario Liberal Party Health Critic (Ottawa South)

  • Rimmy Jhajj, Registered Nurse (Brampton West)

  • Marjan Kasirlou, Registered Nurse (Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill)

  • Sumira Malik, Health Researcher (Mississauga Centre)

  • Jill Promoli, Flu prevention advocate and founder of For Jude, For Everyone (Mississauga-Streetsville)

  • Dr. Sylvain Roy, Neuropsychologist (Newmarket-Aurora)

  • Dr. Adil Shamji, Emergency Physician and Medical Director (Don Valley East)

  • Dr. Nathan Stall, Physician & former member on Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table (Toronto-St. Paul’s)

  • Tyler Watt, Registered Nurse (Nepean)

  • Soo Wong, Public Health Nurse (Scarborough-Agincourt)

“Doug Ford and his Conservatives just cannot be trusted when it comes to protecting public health care. It was one of the first things he cut when he came into office and at their core, they believe private ownership is almost always better than the public sector,” concluded Del Duca. “Liberals believe in public health care, and our team of health care candidates reflects that. An Ontario Liberal Government will build a strong health care system that we can all be proud of.”
