Liberals in Burlington Nominate Mariam Manaa as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

June 26, 2021 – Liberals in Burlington have nominated Mariam Manaa, a Public Relations Manager and a community advocate, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Mariam is a strong leader who continues to fight to improve the lives of those in Burlington,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “I’m very happy to have Mariam on our team as we get ready to take on Doug Ford in the next election.”

Manaa is a long time Burlington resident and an active member of her community. She has worked for Karina Gould, M.P. in her constituency office directly serving the needs of the residents of Burlington, and has experience in policy advisory and stakeholder relations.

Manaa is passionate about community service which has always been an important part of her life. She served as a board member for the Lions McInnes House for the Blind and Deaf and just recently completed a term on the board of the Halton Mosque.

As a young woman in politics, she hopes to be a role model to other young people looking for ways to help their communities.

“For years I have served the residents of Burlington through the local M.P. and community programming,” said Manaa. “I have witnessed how the government impacts the daily lives of Ontarians whether it be housing, childcare, education, or healthcare. Our residents deserve someone in the Legislature that will fight to invest in Burlington and make Ontario a better place to live.”
