Emergencies Act Report is an Indictment of Doug Ford: MPP Fraser

OTTAWA, ON – John Fraser, MPP for Ottawa South and Interim Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, has released the following statement in response to the report released by the Public Order Emergency Commission, which scolds Doug Ford for his absence during the occupation of Ottawa:

“Today’s report has told us what we already knew: that Doug Ford and his Conservative government abandoned the people of Ottawa when they needed their support the most. It was wrong, and is an indictment of Doug Ford’s abilities as a leader.

“To have an entire chapter of the report dedicated to ‘Ontario’s Absence’ is appalling. It’s clear that Doug Ford’s refusal to testify was an attempt to hide his failure to act when Ottawa was under siege. He needs to apologize today, to the residents of Ottawa and all citizens of Ontario, for his dereliction of duty.”
