TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:
“While Doug Ford was telling Ontario families to skip their gatherings for the Holidays, his Finance Minister was jetting away for an international trip. It’s “do as I say, not as I do” in Doug Ford’s Ontario.
If Doug Ford and his team can’t lead by example, how do they expect Ontario families to follow their public health guidelines.
I refuse to believe Doug Ford didn’t know about his Finance Minister’s travels. There needs to be consequences for Minister Phillips’ hypocrisy, but the buck stops with Doug Ford.
Doug Ford himself spent all summer touring Ontario on his premature victory lap, even while he was asking people not to travel out of hot zones. Doug Ford and Rod Phillips have eroded any remaining trust in their ability to responsibly confront COVID-19.”
