October 13, 2021 – Liberals in Don Valley West have nominated Stephanie Bowman, a financial services executive, former Board Member of the Bank of Canada, and a strong community leader, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Stephanie Bowman will make a fantastic MPP for Don Valley West and a strong addition to the Ontario Liberal team,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “Stephanie’s extensive experience, both in the financial sector and in Don Valley West, will help her get results for her community.”

Born in London, Ontario, Bowman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Business Administration from Western University (Ivey Business School) and a Chartered Accountant designation. She is a Fellow of Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Bowman has more than 25 years of experience as a financial services executive, management consultant and board member, leading large teams and projects in Canada, the United States and internationally. She is a Board Member of the Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation and Empire Life, where she chairs the I.T. Oversight Committee. She also serves as a volunteer Member of Canada’s Accounting Standards Oversight Council. She recently served as a Board Member of the Bank of Canada, and was recently Chair of its Audit & Finance Committee.

Bowman is married, is the proud mother of two young adult children, and has lived in Don Valley West for 27 years.

“I am honoured to be the Ontario Liberal Party candidate for Don Valley West, which is a wonderfully diverse and vibrant community,” said Bowman. “As I meet with more of the people across Don Valley West, I am committed to listening to residents to understand their challenges and their ideas around improving life in our community and our province and to represent them with sincerity and energy at Queen’s Park. I want Ontario to get back on a path where we collaborate to find innovative solutions to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to achieve their personal and financial life goals.”
