BARRIE, ON – Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals, blasted the Ford government’s failures to protect our water, as Lake Simcoe faces toxic green-blue algae blooms.
“After six years of inaction, we are seeing Doug Ford’s failures to protect our environment firsthand. Toxic green-blue algae blooms in Lake Simcoe this summer are the latest alarming sign that the watershed is struggling.
“This government has refused to update the Lake Simcoe protection plan, and is under RCMP investigation for their $8.3-billion Greenbelt giveaway.
“Ontario’s Liberals will protect our water, with a smart plan to reduce phosphorus, conserve nature, and work collaboratively with municipalities and environmental advocates.”
