Alex Hilson, a lifelong resident of Halton Hills and a passionate community builder, has been named the Liberal candidate for Wellington—Halton Hills in the upcoming provincial election. With a career rooted in community service and youth empowerment, Alex is ready to champion the needs of families, small businesses, and public services in our region.

Alex Hilson has spent over a decade serving his community through diverse roles, including:

  • Founding Inspire Halton, a non-profit empowering youth through the arts.
  • Leading as President of the Optimist Club of Halton Hills, helping to fundraise for vital community projects.
  • Representing his community as a Town Councillor, championing traffic safety, environmental protection, and strong public services.
  • Strengthening local businesses and community engagement as the Coordinator of the Downtown Acton BIA.

A graduate of the University of London, England, with a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies, Alex is an advocate for education, equity, and innovation. He has also contributed to initiatives like the Acton Food Share, Halton Hills Public Library Board, and various cultural events, including Acton’s Leathertown Festival and the Canada 150 celebrations.

Alex is an avid hiker, photographer, and musician who values the natural beauty of Wellington-Halton Hills. He is dedicated to preserving the character and charm of our towns while planning for a sustainable future.
