ORANGEVILLE, ON – Tess Prendergast, an Orangeville Town Councillor, elementary school teacher and dedicated community volunteer, has been officially nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for Dufferin—Caledon.

Tess Prendergast, a dedicated Orangeville Town Councillor, elementary school teacher, and sustainability advocate, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to her community. As a public servant and mother of two, she is passionate about advocating for the needs of families in Dufferin-Caledon.

Tess has consistently worked to improve the lives of residents. On Orangeville Town Council, she has championed affordable housing, sustainable development, and the enhancement of local services. Through her leadership in Sustainable Orangeville, Tess has advanced climate-friendly initiatives and promoted environmental stewardship across the region. Additionally, as a member of the Orangeville Library Board, she has advocated for greater access to educational and cultural resources, helping to strengthen the community’s learning opportunities.

As a French teacher and librarian with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, Tess is committed to ensuring every child in Dufferin-Caledon has the tools to succeed. Her passion for education and literacy drives her efforts to create a future where all children thrive. And, as a mother herself, she understands the pressures families face and is dedicated to building a better tomorrow for everyone.

Tess’s community work extends beyond the council and classroom. She volunteers as a leader with Scouts Canada and is an active participant in local events, collaborating with organizations to foster a more connected and resilient community. Her balanced approach to decision-making and deep roots in public service equip her to deliver meaningful change for Dufferin-Caledon. She believes in a strong public sector that prioritizes education, healthcare, and essential services while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
