Public School Trustee & Health Care Advocate Jill Promoli Nominated as Ontario Liberal Candidate in Mississauga—Streetsville

MISSISSAUGA, ON – Jill Promoli, a public school trustee and health care advocate, has been officially nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for Mississauga—Streetsville.

“Jill is a true champion for public education and health care, and is someone who has never quit in her fight to deliver more for families in Mississauga.

“I know that Jill’s experience, compassion and expertise will make an invaluable contribution to our Ontario Liberal team. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her as our candidate in Mississauga—Streetsville!”

— Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals

“Growing up in Ontario I had the benefit of a great public education, and it opened every door for me. As a public school Trustee and parent of two school-aged kids, I have seen the results of underfunding in our classrooms over these past six years. This government has stripped supports and opportunities from students, the next generation and Ontario’s future.

“Mississauga has been fully represented by Conservative MPPs for the past six years. When our region faces the greatest challenges in Ontario, our local MPPs are silent. That’s not okay and it’s time for Mississauga–Streetsville to have a voice at Queen’s Park that will speak up for our children, our parents, our workers, our community. I’m ready. Let’s go!”

— Jill Promoli, Peel District School Board Trustee & Health Care Advocate

Jill is a public school trustee, community volunteer, and mother of three raising her family here in Mississauga. She founded For Jude, For Everyone, an organization to promote flu and illness prevention, after the loss of her son in 2016. She has fought for better resources to reduce illness in our communities and protect our families, schools, workplaces, and healthcare system. In her role as Trustee, she advocates for safe, welcoming, and well-maintained schools to provide a supportive learning environment for all Peel students and staff.

Jill previously worked for RBC in Toronto and taught ESL in South Korea before managing her own business. She holds a BA in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University. Jill grew up in Bruce County and has called Mississauga home for nearly 14 years.

With two children in local public schools and parents getting older in rural Ontario, Jill sees how underfunding the services we all rely on is putting our families and communities at a disadvantage. She wants a government that will put people before private interests and give Ontarians solid ground to stand on.
